Frequently Asked Questions

Below are our most frequently asked questions about our club and season! Please contact us if you have other questions that may specifically relate to your situation.

What age groups are available?

We have teams for boys and girls starting at Under 5, all the way up to our over 30's Women's and Over 35's Men's teams. The age group is based on the age that the player turns in 2024.

How do I Register?

Registrations are completed online via DRIBL. You can access registrations by visiting our website pondsfc.com and clicking on the 'Competitions Tab'

Which team will my child be in?

The team your child plays in will be based on their ability, the decision will be made after our grading sessions.

What is grading?

Grading is a process used to determine the best fit for the player to ensure they are playing in the right division based on their abilities.

Grading occurs for teams Under 9's and up.

When is grading held?

GRADING, TEAM ALLOCATION AND MUSTER 2024

All events will be held at our home ground, Jonas Bradley Oval, The Ponds

UNDER 5'S TO UNDER 8'S TEAM MUSTER

MONDAY 19TH FEBRUARY
Under 5's - 6pm
Under 6's - 6:30pm

TUESDAY 20TH FEBRUARY
Under 7's - 6pm
Under 8's - 7pm
U5's to U8's - Should whole teams wish to request to be allocated together, please email the first and last name of each player, the name of the parent coach and parent manager to info@pondsfc.com before the 12th of February.

GRADING U9'S TO U14'S
Note: all players must attend both grading events for their age group.
Please bring boots, shin pads and a bottle of water to both sessions.

UNDER 9'S AND UNDER 10'S
Both Thursday 15th and 22nd of February - 6:30 to 8:30pm

UNDER 11'S AND UNDER 12'S
Both Wednesday 14th and 21st of February - 6:30pm

UNDER 13'S AND UNDER 14'S
Both Wednesday 14th and 21st of February - 8pm

WEDNESDAY 28th of February 7PM

Players MUST be registered before attending grading.
Events for older age groups will be announced on our facebook page over the coming weeks

When will training be held?

Training evenings start in March and are held at Jonas Bradley Oval, The Ponds.

Days are as follows for each age group:

Under 5's to Under 7's - Tuesdays
Under 8's and Under 9's - Wednesdays
Under 10's and Under 11's - Thursdays
Under 12's to seniors, may train on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
Your training session time will be agreed upon by the Team Coach and Manager, once team allocations have been made.

PLEASE NOTE: All junior teams, MUST conclude training and be off the field by 7:00 pm.

A parent or guardian MUST remain present and supervise their own child/children during training.

Where are games played?

Games are played against other clubs within the BDSFA (Blacktown District Football Soccer Association) so some games will be 'Home Games' at our home ground, Jonas Bradley Oval and some games will be 'Away Games' held at other fields across the district.

When does the season begin?

The season will begin at the end of March and finish in mid-August for all Under 5 to Under 11 teams as well as competition teams that do not qualify for the finals.

For the teams who qualify for the finals, they will play an additional 1 to 3 weeks depending on how far they progress.

Are games played during the School Holidays?

Yes they are, the only two weekends with no games are the Easter weekend and the June long weekend. The June long weekend may be used for catch-up games if any weekends prior has been rained out.

How will we know where the games are each week?

Prior to the season starting, a draw will be published by the BDSFA which shows all of your game times and location for the year.

This will be published on DRIBL and is subject to change, for reasons which may include but are not limited to field closures due to weather, re-grading etc

Please ensure that you check your DRIBL app prior to each game to ensure no changes has been made.

How do I check when my game is?

Prior to commencement of the Winter season, fixtures will be available through the Dribl App and Dribl Website.

It is recommend to use the App as it allows you to follow yours or your child's team Each time you visit the app your saved or followed team/s will be displayed.

The DRIBL app is available on lOS and Google Play

When will I need to buy my club kit?

Playing jerseys are provided by the club.

The Team Manager will give the jerseys to the players before the start of each game, which are then to be returned to the Manager at the end of the game.

Socks and shorts will be available for purchase from the canteen at Jonas Bradley Oval During the first week of training and on Game Days.

Club shorts and socks MUST be worn on game days, по exceptions.

Players must have their own football boots and shin pads
